Helping Children & Families
Things don’t change, but people can. I invite you to help yourself, your child, or another loved one find the path towards meaningful life change.
I work with adults and children in a respectful, warm, and playful style. People say of me, “She doesn’t know a stranger.” That probably reflects my growing up in the Midwest, as well as my sincere belief that being judgmental only darkens the path to change, while being open and curious illuminates our journey. My own personal therapy and continual supervision contributes greatly to my ability to help successfully guide growth and healing.
Coming from a large family, being a mother and grandmother, all contribute to my success as a practitioner, especially my ability to relate to children and family issues. Creativity is perhaps my greatest strength, especially when working with children. I approach each individual as unique, and can work with someone on a park bench as well as someone from Park Place.
My academic training, personal therapy, and 10 years of supervised experience of a private practice are foundational to my effectiveness as a psychotherapist. At the same time, I don’t consider myself the only expert - we need to work together for maximum benefit.
